Following are principles I try to live my life by on a daily basis. These have been borrowed in part from the Twelve Steps of *Al-Anon.
- I admit I am powerless over outside forces and influences, I only have control over myself.
- I must care for myself to care for other people.
- I believe that a Power greater than myself can help.
- I turn my will and my life over to the care of a Higher Power.
- I make a searching and fearless moral inventory of myself.
- I admit to Higher Power, to myself, and to another human being the exact nature of my wrongs.
- I ask Higher Power to remove my defects of character.
- I humbly ask for Higher Power to remove my shortcomings.
- I identify people I have harmed and become willing to make amends to them. Make direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when doing so would injure them or others.
- I seek through prayer and meditation to improve my conscious contact with a Higher Power, praying only for knowledge of His will for me and the power to carry that out.
